Chairmen Guthrie and Palmer Announce Legislative Hearing to Safeguard America’s Drinking Water

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02), Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, and Congressman Gary Palmer (AL-06), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Environment, announced a hearing titled “Reliable Water in the Digital Age: Examining Legislation to Strengthen Drinking Water Systems and Protect Ratepayers.”

“Throughout this Congress, the Committee has worked to ensure Americans have access to safe and reliable drinking water,” said Chairmen Guthrie and Palmer. “This hearing will provide an opportunity for members to discuss legislation that safeguards our drinking water infrastructure, protecting water systems against cyber threats and other risks. Further, we will consider draft legislation to ensure that data center builders, and not American families, are responsible for the water that their infrastructure requires.”
