On Monday, Subcommittee on Environment Chairman John Shimkus (R-IL) led a group of bipartisan members of the House of Representatives in a Special Order on the House floor outlining the importance of getting H.R. 3053, the Nuclear Waste Policy Amendments Act signed into law.

H.R. 3053 provides practical reforms to the nation’s nuclear waste management policy to ensure the federal government’s legal obligations to dispose of spent nuclear fuel and high-level waste be fulfilled.
