Walden and Rodgers Applaud Nomination for Consumer Protection Safety Commission Chair

Washington, DC – Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Greg Walden (R-OR) and Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) applauded President Trump’s nomination of Dr. Nancy Beck as Chair of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC):

“Dr. Nancy Beck is an excellent choice to lead the Consumer Product Safety Commission. She is a smart, strong-willed PhD toxicologist who has dedicated most of her professional career to public service,” said Walden and Rodgers. “We know, despite Dr. Beck’s substantial credentials, some of our Democratic colleagues will question her long and distinguished record in their constant quest for endless regulation. She has demonstrated sound judgement in her many years of experience protecting public health and safety in her numerous roles and we have no doubt she will do the same and quickly earn consumers’ trust at CPSC.”
