#SubEnergy to Markup Bipartisan Ceiling Fan Legislation NEXT WEEK

WASHINGTON, DC – The Subcommittee on Energy, chaired by Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI), today announced a markup for Tuesday, January 30, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in room 2322 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

Next week, #SubEnergy will consider H.R. 3477, Ceiling Fan Energy Conservation Harmonization Act, authored by committee member Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC), which would align the compliance dates for new ceiling fan efficiency standards. Currently, the compliance date for the latest ceiling fan light kit standard is January 7, 2019, and the compliance date for the ceiling fan standard is January 21, 2020. H.R. 3477 would make the date of compliance for both standards, January 21, 2020.

“This commonsense, bipartisan bill seeks to provided much-needed certainty to manufacturers who produce ceiling fans across the country,” said Chairman Upton. “I’m hopeful the subcommittee can swiftly advance this thoughtful bill, so we can provide regulatory certainty sooner, rather than later.”

#SubEnergy held a legislative hearing on the legislation on November 7, 2017. For more info, click here.
