Health Care Regulations: TBD


The uncertainty–created by the health care law–continues to plague job creators, and–lately, it seems the Obama administration is going out of its way to make–the problem–worse. The health care law mandates that all–employers–offering health care coverage to their workers must–provide–a government-defined–“Essential Benefits Package.” –What does that entail? No one knows. The law fails to define what should be included in the package and instead, authorizes the Department of Health and Human Services (read:–an extraordinarily powerful–unelected bureaucrat) to decide.

It has been more than a year since Obamacare became law, yet HHS has failed to detail what should be included in the essential benefits package. During yesterday’s Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee hearing, Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL) asked HHS when can we expect these regulations to be defined–to give clarity to employers struggling with still-rising health care costs and the law’s weighty new mandates.
